Preparation for National Police Week

Planning is underway for attendance at National Police Week (NPW) in Washington DC. Three board members with MT C.O.P.S. will attend National Police Week. In addition, MT first year survivors will be in attendance. National C.O.P.S. has been preparing for the arrival for several months in hopes the week is fulfilling and healing.

Attendance at NPW has high numbers and can seem crowded.  The events are so valuable and a first step with healing. Even traveling can be overwhelming however, much thought has been given to ease the travel plans. Blue ribbons are pinned to lapels to identify Police Week travelers.

A huge “Thank You” to the Trooper David  Delaittre Memorial Park with the large donation  to MT C.O.P.S. first year survivors travel expenses. The  donation eases the travel and expenses associated with the week.

The annual Montana Law Enforcement Memorial is scheduled May 8, 1 PM  at The Commons in Bozeman, MT. This event is hosted by Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office, Bozeman Police Department, and the Montana Highway Patrol. More than 20 people have worked to organize the event. Anywhere from 500 – 700 law enforcement officers from around Montana and Canada are expected to attend.
